DPRK Women Vow to Fulfill First Year's Task

A meeting of the officials and members of the women's union took place at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph on Feb. 19 to vow to carry out the first year's tasks of the five-year plan set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).


Present there were Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the C.C., WPK, Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, officials of the women's union and members of the union in Pyongyang.


Jang Chun Sil, chairwoman of the C.C., the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, made a speech at the meeting.


She said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the most correct and detailed strategy of struggle guaranteeing the implementation of the decisions of the 8th Party Congress at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party.


She stressed that it is the great honor and fortune of the Korean people to receive the great practical programme for achieving the overall development of the Korean-style socialism.


She ardently called for giving full play to the revolutionary stamina of the Korean women in the general advance for carrying out the programme of struggle set forth at the 8th Party Congress, rallied firm around Kim Jong Un in one mind.


At the meeting the speakers pledged to leave clear footsteps of their life so that the rising generation would remember always how the Korean women lived and struggled in the general advance indicated by the 8th Party Congress.


A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.


At the end of the meeting, the members of the women's union in the city conducted the intensive agitation activities at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph.
