Today is the 62nd anniversary of Triumph of the Revolution (also known as Liberation Day -KR) in Cuba.

The Cuban revolutionaries finally achieved victory for the revolution on January 1, 1959 after waging a fierce armed struggle under the guidance of Comrade Fidel Castro. This was an epoch-making event that caused a fundamental change in the history of the Cuban people. They since then have entered the path to new life creation and independent development.

The Cuban people have overcome ordeals and difficulties under the leadership of Comrades Fidel Castro Ruz, Raul Castro Ruz and Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez for more than 60 years since the victorious revolution, firmly defending the country's dignity and sovereignty and the gains of the revolution.

Even today, invariably holding aloft the banner of anti-imperialist independence and socialism, the Cuban people move the revolution forward victoriously.

They have strengthened the party's leadership role, waged a vigorous struggle to build socialism in accordance with its reality, and made progress in all areas including health, education, sports, literature and arts.

The Party and government of Cuba consider that the destiny of socialism and country depends upon the enhancement of national defense capabilities, paying close attention to it. They make the military hold a heavy sense of responsibility for the defence of country, complete military tactics, and raise the level of military equipment.

Although severe blockade and inroad of the world pandemic fostered difficulty in the country's development, Cuba has given impetus to industrial and commercial development, strengthening the national and regional system of production. The country specially endeavors to make each region solve problem by its own strength and develop its food production and service sector.

Cuba regards food self-sufficiency as an important issue related to the country's sovereignty, directing its effort to food production. The agricultural and stock-farming sectors have actively adopted modern science and technology to enliven their production.

The Cuban government considers organic agriculture to be an important strategy for achieving food self-sufficiency.

Currently, 147,000 suburb farms have embraced organic farming.

Cuba has also been successful in solving the energy problem.

The Cuban government plans to supply 24% of its total electricity production with natural energy by 2030 and lavishes national investment and assistance on the goal.

Last year, solar power plants produced a lot of electricity in the country's central region and the Mariel Special Development Zone and a biomass power plant started to operate.

The Ciego de Avila Province actively promotes the plan to effectively use natural energies. The province satisfies the electric power demand mostly with the electricity produced in three solar power plants and a biomass power plant.

In the agricultural sector, solar energy covers the electricity demand for irrigation and fruit and herb processing. Some farms are operating about 600 wind turbines. Stock-farms also produce electricity relying on biogas.

All the achievements in Cuba are the fruit of the constant struggle by the Cuban people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba.

The Cuban Party and people will surely get splendid fruit in the struggle to overcome all the challenges and pressure from hostile forces, to defend the socialism won by blood and to achieve the country's prosperity.
