Caracas, May 3 (Prensa Latina) -- The Interior, Justice and Peace Minister, Nestor Reverol, denounced on Sunday the lating attempt by paramilitaries coming from Colombia on the Venezuelan coasts in order to increase the spiral of violence and generate chaos in the population.
Fulfilling instructions from President Nicolas Maduro at this time we denounce before the national and international communities a new attempt by imperialism, said the minister at the beginning of a TV briefing to report about the event.
Reverol explained that in early Sunday morning security forces foiled a paramilitary landing attempt on the coast of La Guaira, in the center-north of Venezuela, only 30 kilometers away from Caracas.
He specified that the terrorist mercenaries coming from Colombia, who were driving speedboats, were trying to reach the area by sea with the purpose of making an attempt against the life of leaders of the revolutionary government and to generate chaos in the population in order to generate a coup d'état.
We remain on alert and permanently resist any threat against our homeland, the minister stressed.
