Japan's apology and compensation for past crimes urged

Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore on April 23 carried an article demanding Japan's apology and compensation for its past crimes.

Japan has strangled law suits instituted by south Korean victims of forcible drafting enforced during the period of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea, raising a "theory on exempt state" that calls for not accepting decisions of foreign and regional courts, the article said.

The article urged the south Korean court to work to meet the demands of victims.
