Iran keeps tough stance against US threat

The commander-in-chief of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps on Apr 23 warned that it would strike US warships in the Persian Gulf in case they pose a threat to the security of Iran.

Noting that it would respond effectively and rapidly to any misdeeds, he said he ordered the military units in the waters to attack any US navy forces attempting to threaten the safety of Iran’s civil or military vessels.

Meantime, the spokesman for the UN-based Iranian permanent representative mission noted that his country would not yield to the US' threat and has already declared that it would reliably safeguard its territory from any aggressions in conformity with international law.
