One-year summit meeting anniversary of Kim Jong Un and Putin
Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, Vladivostok, April 25, 2019.

It has been a year since Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un made an official goodwill visit to the Russian Federation.

The Supreme Leader met Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, for the first time and had talks with him on April 25, 2019.

And he performed undying exploits for the development of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations and world’s peace through his energetic external activities in Vladivostok at the time.

His first visit to Russia constitutes a historic event that laid a foundation for the DPRK-Russia relationship in the new era and marked a new turning point in the development of the strategic and traditional friendly relationship between the two countries.

DPRK-Russia friendship with a long history and tradition had been ceaselessly developed under the special care and efforts of the preceding leaders.

The immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for the development of the DPRK-Russia friendship are creditably carried forward by Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un, valuing the precious treasure of DPRK-Russia friendship handed down by the great leaders, has put his heart and soul into further developing it.

When the Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia visited the DPRK in October 2013, he personally enjoyed its performance although he was very busy with the Party and state affairs. In 2018 he met with the Russian Foreign Minister and the Chairwoman of Federation Council of Russia on visits to Pyongyang.

Thanks to his energetic external activities, the bonds of friendship between the peoples of the two countries have become closer day by day.

The DPRK and Russia have kept step with each other in major issues of international relations and worked hard for peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world, as well as fair international order.

It is the firm will of our people to consolidate and develop the DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations with a long history and tradition.

Our people wish the Russian people successes in building a powerful country by carrying forward the great traditions of victory in war as well as achievements in the current anti-epidemic campaign against Covid-19.
