Meeting of Korean mothers for rosy future of beloved children in Japan

The 11th meeting of mothers of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) took place in Tokyo, Japan, on Sept. 21.

Present there were Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon who is also chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, officials of the women's union organizations who are in charge of work with children. Also seen there were activists in the field of the work with children, members of the mothers' societies of Korean schools at all levels, and representatives from different parts of Japan.

Kang Chu Ryon, in her speech, called for bringing a rosy future to the children with warm maternal love.

There was a video show under the theme of "For rosy future of beloved children".

Held there were workshop, experience-swapping, lecture and quiz appropriate to the features of children of different ages and to mothers' interests.

There adopted an appeal addressed to the Koreans in Japan, and a request to the Japanese authorities for the application of tuition waiver program for Korean high schools and the "program for free education and upbringing of children" to Koreans.
