S Korean paper urges US to return military bases

Kyunghyang Daily News of south Korea on Sept. 2 carried an editorial saying that the transfer of U.S. military base is a priority that can not be ignored any longer.

According to the paper, vast plots of land in Thaejang-dong, Wonju City, Kangwon Province of south Korea have been left careless for nine years since the transfer of the U.S. military base to Phyongthaek, as the U.S. forces have refused to bear the expenses of depolluting the contaminated soil.

The paper urged the U.S. to have positive access to the "government's" decision on early return.
