Kim Myong Gil, roving ambassador of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, released the following statement on Friday:

I have read with keen interest the report that U.S. President Trump pointed to the injustice of applying the mode of "Libyan-style abandonment of nukes" to the DPRK and proposed a "new method" for the improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations.

I, as the chief delegate of the DPRK side to the DPRK-U.S. working-level negotiations, would like to welcome the wise political decision of President Trump to approach the DPRK-U.S. relations from a more practical point of view now that a nasty trouble-maker who used to face everything out of his anachronistic way of thinking has disappeared from the U.S. administration.

If the former shilly-shallying U.S. administrations with a rigid way of thinking were still in power, an uncontrollable situation would doubtless be created on …

There was a test-fire of submarine-launched ballistic missile Trident-2 D-5 by the U.S. navy in waters off San Diego, California, some days ago.

The U.S. justified the test as something unavoidable, claiming that it was for the verification of its performance aimed at extending its lifespan.

The test-fire of the missile is a dangerous military act to maintain hegemony in the field of the strategic nuclear armed forces and realize its ambition for world supremacy.

The U.S. nature as a harasser of peace and stability was brought to light.

It is the invariable ambition of the U.S. to steadily bolster the nuclear force in quality and quantity and to put it to use, if necessary, to realize its criminal aim for world domination.

The U.S. frenzy for nuclear modernization gives the lie to its rhetoric about "denuclearized world" and "nuclear disarmament".

All the countries and nations should be vigilant against the U.S. stepping up the nuclear mod…

"Specified missing persons" have been found one after another in Japan, deriding the Japanese reactionaries who repeatedly got vocal about the "abduction issue."

The Police Agency recently announced that a man of Yamagata Prefecture origin who went missing in 1983, giving rise to a claim that "possible abduction by north Korea" can not be ruled out, was found dead in the country in April last year and a woman who was reported missing in 1990 was found safe in June this year.

In May and August the agency officially admitted that it "rules out the abduction possibility by the north" as the whereabouts of the residents who disappeared several decades ago were confirmed in the country.

As proved by the frequent release of statements by the police authorities, the "abduction issue" touted by the Japanese government is nothing but a clumsy charade which has no justification for being politicized and internationalized as it is just an…

The coteries of the "Liberal Korea Party" (LKP) of south Korea openly incite Japanism and tout without hesitation the phrase "Our Japan".

The LKP men have long resorted to pro-Japanese acts, enraging the whole nation.

Even now, the traitors are actively following Japan in its moves to launch reinvasion, yearning for the past when their ancestors lived in wealth and luxury in return for selling the dignity and interests of the nation.

They term the righteous anti-Japanese struggle of south Koreans of all social standings "neo-seclusionism", "impulsive agitation against Japan" and "reckless suicidal act", thus revealing their colors as traitors steeped in pro-Japanism to the marrow of their bones.

Chosun Ilbo which carried the picture of the flag of the rising sun over its title dating back to the period of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea is also actively abetting acts of pro-Japanese…

On September 11, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted a screenshot of CNN’s headline ticker and highlighted “Trump Sides with Kim Jong Un,” assessing “That’s it. That’s the headline.” She continued, “Obviously [Former National Security Advisor John] Bolton leaving is good — it was an enormous mistake to appoint him in the first place. One doesn’t need to boost authoritarians to make the point.” And then, two minutes later, Rep. Ilhan Omar retweeted Ocasio-Cortez, “Trump sides with yet another dictator.”

To their credit, both congresswomen voted for House Resolution 152 (introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna) earlier this year, which calls for the formal end to the Korean War. However, it was disappointing but unsurprising to watch two of the most progressive members of Congress discuss Korea in this light. After all, the sentiments that Representatives Ocasio-Cortez and Omar expressed are commonamong Democrats writ large. In the…

We will fight for future of our children Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan released a statement titled "We will fight to the end for the future of our children" on September 11.

The Japanese authorities are working overtly and covertly to exclude kindergartens of the Korean schools from the list of "free-of-charge system of infant education and care" by invoking "Child Rearing Support Act" which will take effect from October.

The exclusion of the children of Koreans obliged to pay consumption taxes just like the Japanese people is an extremely unfair and heinous national discrimination, the statement noted.

The Japanese authorities of more viciously and persistently resort to political suppression and discrimination against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan despi…

It is the intention and determination of the Workers' Party of Korea at present to bring about a radical turn in education and surely put the level of education on the most developed one in a short period so as to bring up all students to be revolutionary talents who would shoulder upon themselves the building of a prosperous country.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA on September 17 with regard to Japan's intrusion into our exclusive economic zone.

On August 23 and 24, the patrol boat and ships of Japan Coast Guard were chased out by the self-defensive measures of the DPRK when those made illegal intrusion into our exclusive economic zone.

The expulsion of the Japanese ships from our zone is a just and righteous exercise of our sovereign rights.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK sternly alerted Japan through diplomatic channel to the latter's need to take due steps for heading off any possible reoccurrence of such acts of intruding into our zone and obstructing the activities of our fishing vessels.

There is no immutable mode in developing the state and social system, but the fundamental principle of progress and development that one should solve everything and open a shortcut to a leap with one's own efforts in any case does not change.

Self-reliance is the core in state building and activities and the line that should be consistently maintained and embodied.

The mode of development based on self-reliance is not new to us.

The Workers' Party of Korea that put up the banner of independence has put forward self-reliance as the lifeline of state-building in the whole period of revolutionary leadership and has neither known an inch of deflection nor a trifling deviation from the orbit of self-reliance and self-development.

It is the fixed determination and will of the Party to build up national economic power in the shortest span of time and successfully attain the goals set by us by giving fullest play to the revolutionary spirit of self-reli…

The director general of the Department of U.S. Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK Monday made public the following statement:

It is fortunate that the U.S. has repeatedly expressed its stand to tackle an issue through dialogue and negotiations.

I hope that the working-level negotiations expected to be held in a few weeks will be a good meeting between the DPRK and the U.S.

A proposal that the U.S. put forward at the negotiations may improve the relations and, on the contrary, may add to the hostility towards each other.

In other words, the DPRK-U.S. dialogue suggests two options--crisis and chance.

In this sense, the upcoming working-level negotiations will be an occasion decisive of the future road of the DPRK-U.S. dialogue

Clear and invariable is the DPRK's stand.

The discussion of denuclearization may be possible when threats and hurdles endangering our system security and obstructing our development are clearly removed beyon…

To intensify class education is a very important issue that should not be neglected even a moment in accomplishing the cause of socialism, and the consistent policy of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In order to firmly prepare the popular masses to be vanguard fighters resolutely struggling against the enemy by preserving the revolutionary principle and class stand under any circumstances, it is very important to dynamically conduct class education.

We should cement our political and ideological position to be steel-strong by intensifying class education with good methodology in order to firmly preserve and successfully carry out the socialist cause.

Form and method of class education should be constantly developed as required by the developing times to thoroughly equip all people with strong anti-imperialist class consciousness.

The new generations, who have grown up happily, hearing about but not experiencing exploitation and oppression, have now emerg…

Military nexus between the US and the Japanese reactionaries extremely endangers the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and the Asian region. By KCNA

The U.S. is getting all the more reckless in its aggressive military acts.

In August it held "latter half south-U.S. combined commanding post exercise" against the DPRK. It also staged large-scale naval combined drill with Japan for over 10 days and in its wake started the one month-long joint large-scale military drill simulating the "contingency on the Korean peninsula" from August 26.

This is another serious military provocation against the DPRK and a dangerous act of threatening peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and the region.

The broad international community now hopes more than ever the parties responsible for the situation on the Korean peninsula would think and act with reason.

The U.S. which signed the historic June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement is under obligation to stop all military ac…

A typical example is the detente in Sudan.

An Iranian oil tanker, which had been seized by the UK's Royal Marines in the Straits of Gibraltar, has recently set sail again.

As was reported, the Royal Marines captured the tanker on July 4 for the reason that it transported oil to Syria. There was a fierce diplomatic row about the incident.

Welcoming the safe release of the oil tanker, the Iranian foreign minister said that the US' attempt to prevent the ship from getting free aimed to seize the assets of Iran in the open sea by abusing the legitimate system.

The Iranian ambassador to the UK said that the illegal seizure of its vessel was withdrawn, adding that the US' desperate bid to check the UK from freeing Iran's oil tanker turned out to be a failure.

The US state secretary in an interview with a broadcasting station said that Iran would have more money, assets and resources needed for going on with its “terror” offensive as he expressed regret about the release of Iran's ship. Underscor…

Japanese politicians have become ever more undisguised in their claims to others' territories.

Shortly ago, a member of the Japanese House of Representatives from a conservative opposition party in an SNS criticized south Korean national assemblymen for protesting against Japan's measure for export regulation on Tok Islets, saying that “the Self-Defence Forces troops should be dispatched to drive the illegal occupants out of the islets and that Japan cannot but retake them by fighting a war”. A few months ago he talked about war on a visit to the Kuril Islands of Russia, causing considerable controversy.

Defence Minister Iwaya condemned the recent military drill staged by the south Korean army to defend the islets, describing it as “unacceptable and very regrettable”. And he shamelessly demanded it stop military exercises in the future, arguing Tok Islets are an inherent part of Japanese territory from the historical and legal point of view.

The Supreme Court of Japan recently turned down the appeal lodged by the Osaka Korean School against exclusion of the Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Hatoyama recently expressed his stand on the policy of the present Japanese government. He said Japan made the "Pacifist Constitution" after its defeat but has pursued neo-great Japanism calling for bolstering military muscle under the patronage of the U.S.

Hatoyama's remarks can be viewed as correct and fair judgment about the on-going situation.

Claiming that it was defeated in the past "because of lack of strength", Japan has desperately pursued the policy for emerging as a military giant.

Japan has persistently pursued that policy for decades, which has already turned its "Self-Defense Forces" into offensive forces.

This goes to prove that the word "peace" is just unfit for Japan that is crazy about reckless military moves and has become ever more pronounced in its moves for launching overseas invasion.

In actuality, Japan is working hard to revise the "Pacifist Constitution,&…

Japanese reactionaries have gone to extremes in their wild ambition to seize Tok Island.

Of late the Japanese defence minister claimed that Tok Island is clearly pertaining to Japan in terms of history and international law. His sheer sophism provokes a side-splitting laughter.

Bellicose remarks that the "Self-Defense Forces" should be dispatched to expel illegal occupants and there is no option but a war to take back Tok Island are heard even from the Japanese Diet.
