US blockade also prevents Peace Boat from touching Cuban port

With deep sorrow I received the news that on this occasion the Peace Boat will not be able to touch Cuban lands as planned on June 13, due to the new restrictions on boats, cruises and private planes imposed by the Trump Government against Cuba.

Being a US-owned vessel, the Peace Cruise, a symbol of coexistence, peace and goodwill among the people, will not be able to bathe this time from the optimism, dignity and firmness of the Cubans. As one of his directors and promoters once told me: "Every trip to Cuba is a trip to the land of dignity."

This is not the first time that absurd measures will prevent him from docking on the island, but as it happened in the past, sooner or later these and other actions will fail and the Peace Boat will return to Cuban lands with its message of Peace and solidarity.

On this occasion, the cruise carried with it an endearing cargo, the modest donation that the Cuban community living in Japan and Japanese friends sent in support to the victims of the Tornado that hit Havana at the beginning of the year.

Once again the evil and irrational hatred against Cuba shows its face, but nothing of it will take away the dream and the commitment to continue working and contributing to our beloved Cuba. Thanks Yoshioka-san and other friends, the battle continues.
