Kim Jong Un sends greetings to Putin on Russia Day

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Wednesday sent a message of greeting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his message extended warm congratulations and greetings to the president, government and people of the friendly Russian Federation on the occasion of its national day in the name of the government and people of the DPRK.

Today the strong and diligent Russian people are achieving big successes in the struggle to build powerful and prosperous Russia while bravely overcoming all the challenges and difficulties under your energetic leadership and we are sincerely pleased over them, the message said, and went on:

The first meeting between me and you in Vladivostok, the beautiful port city of the Russian Federation, in April served as a significant and important occasion that made a sincere and good close relationship between ourselves and opened a new history of the DPRK-Russia friendship as required by the changing international situation and the times.

I am much pleased with this.

It is our common responsibility before the times and history to put the precious centuries-old tradition of friendship on a higher stage.

I express firm belief that the common understanding and agreements made at our first significant meeting will bear rich fruits and, as a result, the strategic and traditional DPRK-Russia relations of friendship provided by the preceding leaders will further develop.

The message sincerely wished the Russian president good health, happiness and greater successes in his responsible work for building prosperous Russia.
