Ceramics of makeup ware, national intangible cultural heritage

Makeup ware is one of the Korean nation's peculiar ceramic heritages.

The makeup ware, created in the latter half of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392), was developed on a full scale in the first half of the feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910).

It is characterized by diverse patterns and ornamental effect.

Typical of makeup wares in the country is a ware with pattern of creeper.

The makeup ware represents feelings, emotion and hobby of the Korean people with soft color and creative technique.

Ceramics of makeup ware was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in October Juche 106 (2017).
